Happy 2026

Officially, I’m still out of the office. But my Monday reflection moment is so deeply part of my routine that it showed up anyway.
Back home from the holidays, un-decorating the house, with snow falling outside the window, I couldn’t stop thinking about a small moment from the Italian Apennines.

I had hired a snowboard instructor and asked him a simple question:
“Why am I not getting any better?”

He asked me to go down the slope once and watched quietly.
Then he said something that stayed with me: “The problem isn’t the board. You’re afraid of falling. You keep checking what could go wrong instead of looking where you want to go. And that changes your direction.”

Because we go where we look. When you keep looking down at the board, searching for safety, your whole body responds. A slight tilt. One hand moving forward. A shift in balance. And suddenly you’re heading somewhere you really don’t want to be, at high speed, down a mountain. Not because you chose that direction.

But because your gaze chose it for you. That moment made me think about business. How often do we postpone projects, decisions, or changes not because we’re not capable, but because we’re focused on the risk of falling? On what could go wrong. On the ground beneath our feet. And without noticing, that fear quietly alters our direction.
So here are three gentle reminders to carry into 2026

1. Shift your focus to where you want to arriveOn the slope, the trick wasn’t staring at other skiers to avoid them. It was looking at the space between them.

In business, it’s the same. Focus on the destination, not the obstacle. Your attention shapes your movement.

2. Let go of fear by asking for guidance

Fear grows when we try to manage everything alone. Progress accelerates when someone can see what we can’t. Asking for help doesn’t slow you down. It steadies your direction.

3. Don’t start on the black track

You don’t need the hardest version of the plan to move forward. Choose a slope that challenges you without overwhelming you. Confidence is built step by step.
Before 2026 fully takes over, I invite you to take a moment of quiet.
Sit down, slow down, and write out the dreams you have for your business. Not the risks. Not the blocks. The direction.Because where you look is where you go.
Cheers,❤️ Ugne❤️ Ugne
